Video Watch: Past and Present

Two videos to help kick off the weekend…

First, while thousands of St. Louis Cardinals fans were downtown enjoying the grand opening of Ballpark Village on Thursday night, Joe Kelly was on Twitter (@JosephKellyJr) and used Vine to document dinner with a few of his teammates in Florida:

Meanwhile, researcher and Senior Curator at the Baseball Hall of Fame Tom Shieber uncovered some unique footage of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig from the University of South Carolina’s Moving Research Collections. The footage has been confirmed as being from June 1, 1925 which was the return of Ruth to the New York lineup after missing 41 games with the “bellyache heard round the world”…

But, that date also marks the first game of Gehrig’s consecutive games played streak.
