Tuivailala Named Fall Star

St. Louis Cardinals pitching prospect Sam Tuivailala has been named to the roster for the 9th Annual Fall Stars Game, which will be played this Saturday at 7pm CT and broadcast on MLB Network.

Tuivailala, who is on the West roster, has made six appearances for the Peoria Javelinas of the Arizona Fall League this season. In eight innings pitched, he has allowed five hits and one earned run while striking out seven and walking three batters.

The 22-year old, right-hander made two appearances for the Cardinals towards the end of the 2014 season after making stops in Palm Beach, Springfield, and Memphis.

Joining Tuivailala on the Javelinas roster are pitchers Mitch Harris and Tyrell Jenkins, second baseman Jacob Wilson, outfielder C.J. McElroy, and catcher Cody Stanley. Former big-leaguer Jason Simontacchi is the team’s pitching coach–a role he also fills for the Peoria Chiefs (A) affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.
