The St. Louis Cardinals announced today they have signed right-handed pitcher Pat Neshek to a minor league contract with an invite to Major League camp for Spring Training.
Last season with Oakland, the side-armer appeared in 45 games and pitched 40.1 innings.
Overall, the 33-year old has made 226 career appearances, all in relief, compiling a 16-9 record with a 3.07 ERA. He has held right-handed batters to a .182 batting average over 494 career at bats and has limited the opposition to a .192 average with runners on base and .183 with runners in scoring position.
Neshek is an avid autograph collector and trades signed baseball cards with fans on his website http://www.eteamz.com/PatNeshek/
CARDS EXTEND BUSINESS HOURS
The Cardinals also recently announced the extension of office hours to include Saturdays and are inviting fans to schedule a tour of Busch Stadium to select a seat location for their 2014 season tickets.
“Because of our very large season ticket fan base and consistent success on the field, we always fight the misconception that season tickets are sold out or that we don’t have any good season tickets still available,” said Joe Strohm, Vice President of Ticket Sales. “Fans also may not realize how affordable some of our season ticket plans are. Our plans are built to fit almost any budget out there.”
In a related note, registration for Premium and Opening day Flex Packs is now open–fans wishing to guarantee tickets to Opening Day can currently purchase a Full Season Ticket plan, 40-game Half Season plan, or the 10-game Opening Day Pack, all of which are on sale now at cardinals.com.
