Entering the day with a 2.5 game lead over Pittsburgh for first place in the National League Central, the St. Louis Cardinals open a three game series at Busch Stadium against Colorado tonight.
Left-hander Jorge De La Rosa will take the mound for the Rockies, as a result, the Cardinals are loaded up with right-handed bats…

“Decided to get Bourjos back in there, he’s done a nice job,” explained Mike Matheny. “Randal Grichuk, who has had some opportunities off the bench and getting Adams a day every once in a while–especially against the lefties, isn’t a bad idea.”
Jon Jay is batting .403 (29-72) against left-handed pitchers this season. Bourjos has hit in six of his last nine games (.417, 10-24). Both are 1-3 in their career off De La Rosa.
Matheny also announced a pitching change for Sunday–Marco Gonzales will start in place of Michael Wacha.
