Though he graduated from both high school and college in Florida, St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Kevin Siegrist hasn’t gotten too far away from his Buffalo-roots.
“I moved down here my freshman year of high school, so still a Sabres fan,” explained Siegrist. “Hockey’s not that big down here, but I go check out a game once in a while—especially when the Sabres are in town.”
Kevin had a mixed reaction to the St. Louis Blues trade to acquire Buffalo goalie Ryan Miller last night.
“It is what it is, I think it was a good trade for both teams. (Miller) has a chance to win a Cup so that’s good.”
And the left-hander agreed that the acquisition of Steve Ott–a former captain who has won 52% of his face-offs this season, is being overlooked in the deal.
“I do—he’s a great player,” said Siegrist. “I actually wish we could’ve kept him, not that I wouldn’t want to keep Miller either, but he’s a good player.”
