For the first time since 2011, the St. Louis Cardinals will open their season at home. Major League Baseball announced the 2017 schedules today and the Cardinals will host the Chicago Cubs on Monday, April 3rd to begin the season.
The season opener against the Cubs will be the first between the two teams in St. Louis since 2000.
The two teams will meet again in May for a weekend series at Busch Stadium and for a four-game series the final week of September.
The home portion of the interleague schedule includes visits from Boston, Tampa, and Toronto. To complete their American League East matchups, the Cardinals will travel to Baltimore, Boston, and New York.
The Cardinals also have an extended home streak of 10 games leading into the All-Star Break on July 10th. They will also close out the 2017 schedule with a three game series against Milwaukee.
