The size of the St. Louis Cardinals disabled list is starting to equal that of their active roster as the team has announced Matt Bowman and Paul DeJong will be out of action at least 10 days. The pair are the sixth and seventh players to be added to the DL in the last week.
Hit by a pitch in the 8th inning of last night’s game, DeJong suffered a fractured left hand. Bowman is dealing with blisters on his right index and middle fingers.
The Cardinals have recalled infielder Yairo Munoz and outfielder Tyler O’Neill from Memphis (AAA).
After spending the first 11 games of the season with St. Louis, Munoz has hit .287 with 3 home runs and 13 runs batted in for Memphis. O’Neill appeared in six games with the Cardinals earlier this season and has 13 homers this season for the Redbirds–four in the past week.
